Head of Communications
LOCATION / Geneva
Virginia joined Oak Foundation as the first communications staff member in 2011 to head the internal and external communications initiatives for the Foundation, manage digital and print publications and coordinate media relations. She was promoted to Head of Communications in 2014. In this role, she works in collaboration with staff, Trustees and partners to develop communication strategies that support internal and external goals. She also manages a team of communications staff to implement the Foundation's communications strategy and is part of the leadership team of the Foundation.
Virginia has more than fifteen years of experience managing and implementing communications initiatives with NGOs, foundations and USAID development projects around the world. Most of Virginia's career has focused on communications planning, project management, web design and implementation, community development, training, grant writing and public relations.
Virginia holds a MA in Communications, Culture and Technology from Georgetown University and a BA from the George Washington University in International Affairs.
