Rita Kahurananga joined Oak Foundation in June 2017. She is the Programme officer within the Child Abuse Programme (CAP) for the East Africa office based in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. She oversees a grant portfolio consisting of national, regional and global grants, working specifically on sexual abuse and exploitation of children. She has been involved in the development sector specifically in gender, advocacy and child rights for the past 15 years, and has had the privilege of working on various policy initiatives related to gender equity and child protection.
Rita’s passion is to explore innovative approaches that would have a lasting positive impact on the boys and girls in this region and in other joint programmes which are well-informed by evidence-based programming.
