Rachel joined Oak Foundation in 2012 as Writer/Editor. She was promoted to Communications Officer in 2017. She works in collaboration with staff, Trustees and partners to edit internal reports and write and edit the annual report and other publications, such as articles for the website and newsletters. She develops videos for our external and internal communications. She collaborates with Oak grantees to source stories, photos and other information about their work, for both internal and external communications.
Rachel has nearly eight years’ experience of working in communications for humanitarian and human rights organisations in Switzerland. For most of this time she has focused on writing, editing and managing the print production processes of annual reports and other publications. Prior to this she worked for seven years in the sales and marketing division of the Irish national broadcaster in both Dublin and London, where she was involved in airtime negotiations, sales and media planning.
Rachel is trained in communications studies, journalism, photography and Adobe Indesign. She received a BSC Honours in International Relations from the Open University in Milton Keynes in 2009. She is mother-tongue English-speaking and fluent in French.
