Karen Phair joined Oak Foundation in 2000 as Executive Assistant to the President. Since then, she has served many roles at Oak. She now works as an assistant for the Chair of Oak Foundation’s Board of Trustees and the Special Interest Programme.
Prior to joining Oak Foundation, Karen worked in administrative positions at Colby College (Waterville, Maine) and at several corporate enterprises in the Washington, D.C. area. After college, she began her career as a teacher, working primarily with elementary school students needing specialised reading instruction. She also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Kabul, Afghanistan in the mid-1970s.
Karen is the proud mother of two grown children (Joshua and Jessica) and is delighted with the addition of two granddaughters (Chloe and Quinn) to the family.
