Dan joined the Oak Foundation in July 2017 as a Programme Officer. In this role, she works on the China climate and energy portfolio of grants.
Having worked for WWF, Conservation International and IUCN over the last quarter of a century, Dan not only has acquired hands-on experiences in China and Russia, but also accumulated strategic oversight on key environmental issues in Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia. In the grant-making field, she has supported grassroots NGOs in China and the Caucasus under the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF).
Dan received her Master’s in International Studies from the American University in Washington DC and Bachelor’s in Russian from the East China Normal University in Shanghai. She speaks Chinese, Russian and English fluently and manages basic French. She is a big opera fan, loves cooking and outdoor activities.
