Medina joined Oak Foundation in 2010 to work with the Issues Affecting Women Programme. As Programme Officer for the Issues Affecting Women’s Programme, Medina works with partners around the world. Prior to joining Oak Foundation, Medina worked with the Women and War unit of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) where she helped to mainstream the needs, vulnerabilities, and capacities of women affected by armed conflict into the operational activities of the ICRC. She also has experience working with Karen refugees on the Thai/Burma border with the International Rescue Committee in order to gain a better understanding of the specific experiences of women during the refugee and resettlement processes. She holds a master's degree in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts.
