Imani Fairweather Morrison is presently Oak Foundation's Mesoamerica Programme Coordinator. In this position, she facilitates grant making for marine protected areas management, capacity building, research and monitoring, and policy and advocacy initiatives, among other initiatives in the Mesoamerica region.
Prior to joining Oak Foundation, Imani was the CEO of the Belize Coastal Zone Management Authority and Institute, which undertakes the country’s coral reef, water quality and endangered species monitoring programmes, as well as coastal planning, environmental education and marine protected areas management activities.
Imani holds a MS with distinction in Regional Planning and Development from the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and has served on many national advisory bodies including the Belize Advisory Committee on the Guatemala Claim and the Protected Areas Trust Advisory Board. She has also served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University of Belize. She is the proud mother of two boys, Bryce and Ahkeil, and the wife of Ian Morrison.
