Andrea Florence joined Oak Foundation in 2013 as an independent consultant for the Child Abuse Programme and as of 2017 has been the Programme Officer for the Joint Brazil Programme. In this role, Andrea manages the grant portfolio in Brazil and provides support and guidance to grantee organisations funded by Oak.
Prior to joining Oak Foundation, Andrea worked as a law clerk in Brazil, the Netherlands and Switzerland specialising in human rights issues. She has also worked as an ad honorem assistant for the United Nations International Law Commission and is a human rights lawyer and campaigner for Terre des Hommes International Federation where she is particularly involved with the Children Win campaign which aims to actively engage FIFA and the International Olympic committee to adopt human rights and, in particular, child rights policies.
Andrea holds a Masters in International Law from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, a certificate of Advanced Studies in International Organisations from the University of Zurich and a Bachelor of Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo in Brazil. Andrea speaks five languages (Portuguese, English, French, Spanish and German).
