Adriana joined the Oak Foundation as Senior Adviser in February 2013. Her role is to shape the capacity building strategies which are consistent with Oak`s culture and programmes, to support the programme staff in assessing the grantees` readiness for capacity building, including conducting capacity assessments of potential or existing grantees and to design appropriate interventions.
Before joining Oak, Adriana monitored projects for LIFE programme, the European Union's environment fund, and was National Coordinator for GEF UNDP Small Grants Programme in Romania. She has gained extensive experience in capacity building, organisational development and grant-making in Budapest working as Senior Project Manager responsible for capacity building projects at the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe. In addition, she led a team to develop a methodology for organisational assessment of civil society organisations and its associated toolkit and support programme.
Adriana is Romanian and has lived in Bucharest, Budapest, Brussels and Geneva. She has a Master's degree in Training from University of Leicester (UK) and a Civil Engineering degree from the Technical University of Bucharest where she specialised in bridge design and construction.
