Encore Community Services
To complete the capital funding for ‘Encore West Residence’ , which provides affordable housing to 84 very low-income people aged over 62 in New York City. In addition, to provide catalyst funding for a fund-raising campaign to renovate Encore 49, a supportive facility for formerly homeless senior citizens. Encore improves the quality of life of poor, frail, homebound and homeless older people, enabling them to live independently, with dignity, in the community. (Over three years)

New Destiny Housing Corporation
To increase access to affordable housing for domestic violence shelter residents in New York City. To develop and pilot a clearing-house system linking domestic violence shelter users with vacant affordable housing units. To disseminate findings from the pilot and encourage the institutionalisation of the clearing house. New Destiny Housing Corporation provides housing and services for low-income women who have experienced domestic violence and are at risk of homelessness. (Over three years)

Nuestra Development Fund, Inc.
To provide home improvement loans for renovation, and property management services to low-income senior citizens in Boston, Massachusetts. To enable low-income senior citizens to realise the rental potential of multi-apartment buildings that they own and occupy. This will increase affordable housing stock and contribute to the overall value and aesthetic of surrounding neighbourhoods. Nuestra develops and renovates affordable housing, offers small business assistance, low-income home ownership services, and housing advocacy and placement in the Roxbury and North Dorchester areas of the city. Philadelphia Association of Community Development Corporations (PACDC)
To double the funding for the Philadelphia Housing Trust Fund to $30 million per year, and to implement an effective city-wide policy on inclusionary zoning that recognises neighbourhood economic characteristics. PACDC provides advocacy, policy development, and technical assistance to 50 community development corporations and similar organisations operating in the city. (Over three years)

Pine Street Inn
To implement a pilot project in Boston, Massachusetts, providing housing and intensive support services for a group of chronically homeless men. The pilot programme is designed to accommodate the most challenging segment of the homeless population, who absorb a disproportionately high share of emergency shelter services. Pine Street Inn is the largest provider of services for homeless men and women in New England, serving more than 1,200 people every day. (Over two years)
