Bureau International Catholique de l'Enfance (BICE)
To strengthen BICE's efforts against sexual abuse and exploitation through community projects and regional initiatives that promote the participation of children and link resilience with children rights. It has many projects internationally that tackle domestic violence and sexual abuse in countries including Togo, Nepal, India, Cambodia and Latin America. (Over three years)

Child Soldiers Coalition Educational and Research Trust
To fund the consolidation of the national Child Soldiers’ Coalitions in Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda; to support coalition members’ advocacy efforts and the development of their monitoring and reporting capacity; and to provide local partners with opportunities to participate in regional and international fora and to engage in international advocacy efforts alongside the Coalition’s International Secretariat.

Columbia University
To support the establishment of an agency learning network on the Care and Protection of Children in Emergencies (CPC Network) founded by 11 local and international NGOs, UNICEF and Columbia University. The CPC Network will serve as a membership association of NGOs and other concerned institutions dedicated to the promotion of child care and protection in emergencies through collaborative action and learning. (Over three years)

ECPAT Europe
To support the implementation of a multi-stakeholder training programme at local level to improve their operational skills in order to protect children from trafficking. These skills will include the capacity to recognise child victims of trafficking, to address their specific needs on a child rights basis and to improve the prosecution rates of traffickers.

ECPAT International
To evaluate the current strategy that ECPAT International is pursuing in West Africa, Russia and the Confederation of Independent States to effectively address the issue of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children. It is anticipated that recommendations will be made to assist the development of planning, management systems and processes in these regions and worldwide.

International Institute for Child Rights and Development
To develop educational programmes in Canada on the rights of children and the impact of these programmes on the work of health and other professionals dealing with children, including those in the child protection field. Child Rights Education for Professionals will develop and provide the tools through which professionals can better understand, apply and respect the principles and standards of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in their day-to-day work, and in policy making and research. (Over two years)

International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN)
To support Chicago-based ISPCAN in becoming a leading technical resource globally on child abuse and neglect prevention and treatment through organisational capacity development. This will include the introduction of more efficient internal systems, the development of consultancy services and the training in child abuse and neglect for professionals in charge of child abuse cases from 11 developing and emerging countries. (Over four years)

University of Wyoming
To improve the reintegration of girl mothers and their children and other vulnerable girls in north Uganda, Liberia and Sierra Leone using participatory approaches to reintegration to identify ways for girl mothers and their children to experience greater social acceptance and decreased stigma, and develop sustainable livelihoods and roles as contributing members of the community. (Over two years)

Save the Children UK
• To assist the Keeping Children Safe Coalition in piloting the Keeping Children Safe toolkit in West Africa and to provide technical assistance to NGOs and other groups caring for children in that region. This first step will see the Coalition train NGOs to start implementing measures to prevent and deal with allegations of abuse, as well as integrate and develop networks in the region that address sexual abuse and exploitation. (Over two years)
• To create the pre-conditions required for the development of sustainable child protection systems in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Ivory Coast. Activities will focus on improving co-ordination, linking policy developments with actual practices on the ground, supporting meaningful levels of child participation, and the development of clear strategic plans so that short-term outcomes are completed not as isolated activities but as part of a longer term process.

To fund the layout, translation and distribution of three documents for children aged 7-12 and 14-18 resulting from the UN Study on Violence against Children.

To develop participatory action-research projects for the reintegration of girl mothers and their children from armed forces in Northern Uganda, Sierra Leone and Liberia.

Winrock International Institute for Agricultural Development
To fund initial research in Bahia, and for Brazil as a whole, that documents children's vulnerabilities to trafficking and points to positive actions that can be taken to protect them from the abuses of trafficking.
